Many health insurance plans offer programs that cover the cost of a gym membership. Have you checked to see if you qualify? Research shows that strength training in those 60 years or older led to significant benefits such as stronger bones, improved balance, a lower fall risk, enhanced memory and focus, reduced blood pressure and blood glucose, and increased protection against the development of many chronic diseases.

To sign up, bring your photo ID into the Y along with your Health ID Number. If you don’t have a Health ID Number, please call your insurance provider to ask for it.
