About Camp Ta Ta Pochon
For almost 100 years, Camp Ta Ta Pochon has been a place of “Everlasting Friendship.” Located in the Barton Flats area of the San Bernardino Forest, our week-long overnight summer camp program has been running strong, delivering a structured, wholesome, exciting camping experience for kids ages 8-15 years old. Our main goal and mission is to promote the creation of friendships, healthy lifestyles, fun outdoor activities and nature at its best, while keeping true to our fundamentals of respect, honesty, caring & responsibility. Figuring out who you are, having fun and becoming a better person is the heart of the YMCA camping experience.

ACA Accredited
Here at the YMCA we provide the best environment socially and also ensure health and safety for all campers. Camp Ta Ta Pochon camp is ACA accredited. The camp being accredited means that our camp has met up to 300 standards for health, safety, and program quality. ‘The American Camp Association collaborates with experts from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Red Cross, and other youth-serving agencies to assure that current practices at camp reflect the most up to date, research-based standards in camp operation (acacamps.org).’
Health & Safety
The well-being of our campers is our first priority. Medical care and treatment is provided by our on-site registered nurse. All staff are LiveScanned. They are trained and certified in CPR/First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention, and receive training in Social-Emotional and Mental Health Awareness.
Camp Activities
We aim to deliver a structured, wholesome, fun and exciting camping experience. That’s why for nearly 100 years Camp Ta Ta Pochon has been the home of Everlasting Friendship, and we see this in our campers as they return year after year. Our campers enjoy instructed activities ranging from:

Be a Volunteer!
Would you like to make a lasting impression on the next generation? Camp Ta Ta Pochon is a great place to develop your leadership skills as you impact the lives of your campers. Positions include:
- CIT (Counselor-in-Training): For youth 16-17 years old
- Counselor: For Adults 18 years and older
- Program Areas including crafts, archery, riflery, and rock wall (training provided)
